The Sun Cup is a prestigious summer tournament held every year on the coast. It brings together Whiteshore Football Club, Trawlermen Athletic, Twin Beacons FC, and one invited team. The invitation usually goes to the team that has shown the best fair play throughout the season.
At the same time, the Sun Cup serves as the game's tutorial. Behind its apparent simplicity, Gran Gol hides a certain degree of complexity. There are a number of concepts and mechanics that are not necessarily intuitive or immediately obvious. At the risk of explaining the obvious, the tutorial starts with the basics and gradually moves on to more complex ideas.
I'm now eager to find people who have never been exposed to the game and can experience it for the first time through the tutorial. For now, I have no evidence whatsoever that it's actually a good tutorial.
